BREAKING NEWS: Lonel Messi Has Been Ruled Out Of The Remaining Games Due To Recurring Injury.
Argentina's star striker Lionel Messi has been ruled out of the 2022 World Cup tournament due to injury. The four-time Ballon d'Or winner had already been forced out of the last two World Cups after suffering ligament damage, and he is expected to miss all matches in Qatar. Photos surfaced on social media showing Messi with a marked absence of movement in his left knee, which had been strapped in ice down during training. Messi revealed back in June that he had undergone surgery on the injury. Injury updates - published by world football news website Goal - claim that doctors have advised Messi not to return until 2023 due to the risks associated with repeated Knee surgeries. Messi is expected to make a full recovery from his injury, but he will not play for Argentina at the World Cup. The news comes after the Barcelona star missed out on both the 2014 and 2018 editions of the tournament due to knee ligament damage. Messi is one of the greatest footballers of all time and he has enjoyed a glittering career. The 32-year-old has scored over 500 goals for club and country, won multiple trophies with Barcelona and been named UEFA Player of the Year on three occasions. He was also named FIFA World Player of the Year five times in his career.

Man jailed for manslaughter of young fisherman in Co Waterford
A 21-year-old man has been jailed for three-and-a-half years for the manslaughter of a young fisherman in Co Waterford in 2018.
Dean Kerrie was 17 when he stabbed 25-year-old Jack Power in the chest on 26 July 2018 after Mr Power entered his house in the early hours of the morning.
Mr Power threw a rock through the front window and went into the house at around 3.30am to confront Kerrie, believing the younger man had earlier caused damage to his car.
Kerrie stabbed him once in the chest and Mr Power collapsed outside the house and died.
Mr Justice Paul McDermott said he had to accept the jury's verdict that Kerrie had acted in self-defence, although he said the convicted man had used excessive and disproportionate violence by using a knife on someone who was unarmed.
However, he said Kerrie was drawn into a response to an event he did not instigate and could not have expected.
The judge said the Oireachtas had legislated to ensure that those attacked in their own homes were entitled to use force to defend themselves.
The judge said Mr Power was behaving in a very violent and threatening way. He assaulted Kerrie and the court was told he had also assaulted Kerrie's mother.
Kerrie said he grabbed a kitchen knife, which he said was in a bedroom, to defend himself and his mother, although the judge said he did not accept he had been told the full truth about where the knife came from.
Mr Justice McDermott said he did accept Kerrie, who was younger and of slight build, had made decisions under a degree of pressure in a very short time frame in the context of the unexpected attack on his house by Mr Power, who was a tall, well built young man.
He said he also had to take into account that Kerrie was only 17 years old at the time and that his regret and remorse were genuine. He said this was evident from the immediate aftermath of the stabbing. Kerrie called gardaĆ who came to the house and found him sobbing in the kitchen.
The judge said he had received a number of reports in relation to Kerrie, including a probation report that assessed him as being at moderate risk of violent offending in the future if the risk factors for this were not addressed in a meaningful way. He said according to the report, Kerrie was still not capable of identifying what alternative course of action he could have taken.
In victim impact statements to the court last week, Mr Power's parents said their loss was immeasurable.
His mother Loretta Power said her son did not have a voice in the courtroom and his father Richard said the family had been mentally and physically left without direction. He said their son had been the young blood needed to continue the family fishing business.
Mr Justice McDermott said it often happened in criminal trials that the life, loves, skills and character of the victim of crime, did not appear to be the central concern.
He said trials focused on certain elements of a case, as well as legal rules, and these provided cold comfort for grieving relatives.
Mr Justice McDermott said the damage done to the family was horrendous beyond words. Mr Power had been an exceptionally hard working young man, fuelled by his love for the sea and his father's encouragement.
The judge said his loss was incalculable and nothing he would do or say could alleviate their suffering.
The judge sentenced Kerrie to four-and-a-half years in jail, but suspended the last 12 months for a two-year period, on a number of conditions, including a commitment to engage with therapeutic and addiction services.

BBC REFUSES to apologise amid backlash over Graham Norton’s Ukraine joke – insisting ‘nothing is off limits’
THE BBC has refused to apologise amid backlash over Graham Norton's Ukraine joke - insisting 'nothing is off limits'.
Graham, 58, always opens his BBC One late night chat show with jokes about current events.
At the start of the episode that aired on February 4, the Irish comic mocked Boris Johnson's refusal to step down as Prime Minister after the 'partygate' scandal, before moving on to his visit to Ukraine.
Graham said: "Boris still hanging on in there and this week, he flew off to Ukraine, or if you're watching on catch up TV, he flew off to South West Russia."
While the audience and his celebrity guests including Courteney Cox and Taron Egerton laughed, some viewers at home were not impressed by the joke relating to the current tensions between Russia and Ukraine.
Many claimed it was an insensitive joke towards Ukrainians, who are facing the prospect of a Russian invasion.
However, the BBC defended itself amid calls for an apology, saying in a statement: "We appreciate the seriousness of the current situation there and can assure you there was no intention to cause any offence with these remarks.
"Comedy is one of the most subjective areas of programming and while no subject is off limits we appreciate that some jokes may resonate differently for those h personal experience of a particular situation."
Jake Paul rehabbing injured ahead of Anderson Silva fight
Jake Paul will face the stiffest test of his professional boxing career Saturday night when he takes on Anderson Silva. And it may be even tougher due to an injured shoulder.
Muscle Lab, which treated Deontay Wilder for recurring back issues leading up to his bout against Robert Helenius this month, confirmed that Paul has been rehabbing a right shoulder injury at its facility in Los Angeles.
“Cryo has become a go-to mental and physical rehabilitation resource for me as a full-time boxer,” Paul said. “When you’re training seven days a week at an incredibly high level, diverse and focused treatment is vital, and I have one of the best teams in L.A. working with me regularly.”
Paul has undergone cryotherapy, stretch therapy, cupping therapy, and massage treatments at Muscle Lab. In addition to Wilder, other athletes who are clients include Tyler Herro, Ben Simmons, and Oscar De La Hoya.
Paul is listed as a -130 favorite over Silva at SportsBetting.ag. Paul initially opened as a -180 favorite in August, but quickly went to a +135 underdog. Now he is back in the favorite position, and the website reports that 62.4% of the overall handle has been bet on Paul.
